I came into hospital for my knee surgery 14/2/2017
The nurse who took care of me was amazing she also had a student nurse named Dan who also looked after me he was so courteous he answered every question I asked nothing was to much trouble I was very well looked after ,the lady nurse I think her name was Mel gave me great advice on my after care such as dvt, bleeding etc who to contact in emergency ,I would like to thank them you are both a credit to your job!!
I would also like to thank Mr Portious and his team for the great work you do
Thank you so much Donna Payne
Everyone was so kind to me. I thought the side rooms were amazing - I thought i must be in a private room. I was not keen on being moved at no notice, especially having to go back into wards as I found it so hard to sleep but I understand that needs change.
I was very very impressed with my stay in Southmeed recently. The staff on 33bwere thoughtful, kind, helpful and were only to pleased to help and carefor me. The nurses/HCA's were so lovely and nothing was ever too much trouble for them. The cleaners, assistants were also very reassuring in keeping the wards and room fabulously clean!! I have so much respect for everyone dealing with my care, i couldn't improve on any of it! The room i had was amazing , very patient friendly, clean, excellent for moral. Food was plentiful and nutricious. How wonderful to have an NHS hospital of this standard in Bristol and the dedicated teams providing great patient care. Thank you ALL staff for making my stay (7 days) so stress free!!
I found the staff were extremely helpful from checking in onwards.
Thank you to all the team in the Endoscopy unit who looked after me so well when
I came in on the 13th of May 016 to have a colonoscopy in the morning. I felt that you all worked as a tight knit team, thank you all very much.

Please would you extend my thanks to Mr Mohammed Hamdan in the emergency treatment room close to a & e and also to Maggie Mark and Miss Lyons for their excellent diagnosis, recommended treatment (which worked perfectly) and their general interest and care in what is obviously a very busy and challenging environment. Also many thanks to all staff on ward 26b and 19 prior to my departure. Thank you all once again.

The toast was a bit chewy but apart from that my experience was fantastic.
I was given excellent care and attention from all the doctors, nurses and ward staff. I am a frenchay trained nurse and it's not nice being on the receiving end when you become a patient but I cannot fault the excellent care and attention I was given during my stay from arriving in a&he to arriving on the ward and then being cared for following gallbladder surgery, every staff member treated me kindly and with dignity and respect. I was fearful at times and was reassured by wonderful and caring nurses who really made me feel as though nothing was too much trouble despite being very busy
You always hear the bad things about the NHS but I have to say my whole experience at Southmead Hospital was first class. I can not sing the praises high enough of the care I received and the dedication of the staff that looked after me. I really appreciated having my own room which was kept spotlessly clean.
Southmead hospital is bright and refreshing. The staff who helped me was very caring and understanding. The only negative about this hospital is the lack of parking.
